The Inevtiable
The inevitable happened during my kayak trip on Sunday April 29, 2007. On my return from the rice fields near the Cooper River I capsized my kayak. The first time ever. I foolishly thought I was immune to capsizing. I had been rolling with boater's wakes all day with out incident. I dropped my guard toward the end of my trip and turned right over. My BlackBerry and Nikon D70 got soaked. I'm pretty sure the BlackBerry will dry out and recover. I'm not so sure about my D70. We'll see. Oh no! What a loss.
Sorry to hear about the D70. I love mine. I have a rowing shell with dry wells but don't take my good camera when I'm out in it. I capsized under the Ravenel Bridge in the Wando. It was also a shock but luckily I didn't lose anything and could hurl myself back into the boat.
