This is the first time I've seen a Painted Bunting visit my backyard. I hope it is not the last. His plumage is brilliant. See a few more pictures of him in my Painted Bunting album.
How fun! I've had a pair nesting in my yard for the past three years (I think this one actually makes the fourth year) - have you seen the female as well? Mine come for the white millet seed - I've heard it is their favorite and I try to keep it around for them.
