The hummingbirds that visit my feeders haven't slowed down a bit during this week's heat wave. They just keep on humming. I change their sugar water every other day especially when it is this hot. Stay cool.

Intense Lightning Storm
A cold front rolled through last night, Saturday August 11 2007, bringing with it an intense lightning storm to Goose Creek SC. The power went out momentarily and Comcast cable TV service is still out as of the time of this post.

Vehicle containing explosives pulled on Highway 176 in Goose Creek SC
I ran into a detour tonight on the way to my home in Goose Creek SC from Summerville. Highway 176 was blocked off. A vehicle pulled in a routine traffic stop contained explosives. Local police and the FBI investigated.
